چکیده

Auditory brainstem response (ABR) technology is used to set up a fish auditory threshold detection system, and the of wild yellow grouper Epinephelus awoara caught in Taiwan Strait studied. The ABRs 10 groupers (TL150-200 mm) 12 different frequencies sound stimulation from 100 2000 Hz are recorded analyzed. results show that increases with increase frequency 200-2000Hz. sensitive low signal 100-300Hz most 200Hz, 90 dB re 1?Pa. ABR waveform shows three periods: period, real hearing period extension period. In range 100-2000Hz, time decreases at same pressure level. At frequency, decrease first amplitude between 50-150nv, contains greatest amplitude. When about 50nv next level below 50nv, threshold. proportional

Measurement and Response Characteristics of Auditory Brainstem Responses in Pinnipeds

The measurement of auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) has proven to be a useful tool for examining the auditory physiology of odontocete cetaceans and there is growing interest in applying this electrophysiological approach to study the hearing of other marine mammals. The aim of the current investigation was to examine some of the basic measurement and response characteristics of the auditory b...

Individual Differences in Auditory Brainstem Response Wave Characteristics

Little is known about how outer hair cell loss interacts with noise-induced and age-related auditory nerve degradation (i.e., cochlear synaptopathy) to affect auditory brainstem response (ABR) wave characteristics. Given that listeners with impaired audiograms likely suffer from mixtures of these hearing deficits and that ABR amplitudes have successfully been used to isolate synaptopathy in lis...

Auditory Brainstem Response Wave Amplitude Characteristics as a Diagnostic Tool in Children with Speech Delay with Unknown Causes

Speech delay with an unknown cause is a problem among children. This diagnosis is the last differential diagnosis after observing normal findings in routine hearing tests. The present study was undertaken to determine whether auditory brainstem responses to click stimuli are different between normally developing children and children suffering from delayed speech with unknown causes. In this cr...

Auditory brainstem response in dolphins.

We recorded the auditory brainstem response (ABR) in four dolphins (Tursiops truncatus and Delphinus delphis). The ABR evoked by clicks consists of seven waves within 10 msec; two waves often contain dual peaks. The main waves can be identified with those of humans and laboratory mammals; in spite of a much longer path, the latencies of the peaks are almost identical to those of the rat. The do...

Effects of Hyperbilirubinemia on Auditory Brainstem Response of Neonates Treated with Phototherapy

Introduction: One of the most common pathologies in neonates is hyperbilirubinemia, which is a good marker for damage to the central nervous system. The sensitivity of the auditory system to bilirubin has been previously documented, with much discrepancy in its effects on Auditory Brainstem Response results. Thus the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of hyperbilirubinemia on ...
